But there were so many different styles of it thrown around at Dragon*Con. To be honest, there was an entire track dedicated to it, but I didn’t attend any of the panels. But one author’s “Steampunk” book takes place in the south, where the Civil War is still taking place, except there’s air ships and flamethrowers and such. So my original perception of Victorian era 1800 futuristic is probably wrong.
