“Let your subconscious take over; keep your intellect out of the way. Be passionate about what you’re doing. Look at it this way: When you start a love affair, the last thing you want to be is critical, right? And if you’re starting a business, the last thing you want to do is second-guess yourself, heh? Write, that’s what I say. Don’t look back, just write. Go and write.”
-Ray Bradbury On Becoming a Writer
Something I think we all could afford to learn and relearn.

“Belief isn’t simply a thing for fair times and bright days…What is belief – what is faith – if you don’t continue in it after failure?…Anyone can believe in someone, or something that always succeeds…But failure…ah, now, that is hard to believe in, certainly and truly. Difficult enough to have value. Sometimes we just have to wait long enough…then we find out why exactly it was that we kept believing…There’s always another secret.”

Look forever at the successes, and dwell not on the failures. A lesson I am perpetually learning, ‘I think’.

Since we were talking about Steam Punk, and posting Steam Punk Star Wars costumes from Dragon*Con, I thought as an aside that people might be interested in artist Sillof’s steam inspired custom Star Wars miniatures. Check out his deviant art too, he has some truly amazing artwork up.
My favorite is the European (Jedi) Knight Kenobi, above. But the German-style baddies raise a tough competition.

And thankfully, Leia and Luke both get some justice, presenting them truthfully (arguably more so than A New Hope did) as the rebellion leader and dune-scout-turned-jedi that they are. Of course Han didn’t need much help, but he is still amazing. And I definitely dig the homage due to his custom modded blaster.

Again, go check out the rest at Sillof’s site. I’m hoping to see more of this vision. Especially if it involves cannibal Ewoks…
